Edwards reportedly has an uncanny ability to emotionally connect with an audience. It is how he made his fortune. I think that is really going to be important in the coming election, and that the dem ticket needs Edwards to counter Bush's best qualities. I think that Bush is very underestimated by dems in general. While I disagree with many of his decisions, imo he is an amiable, decent person with an unusually small ego for a president, and he has a good ability to connect to voters. Cheney is a different story together, nothing warm and cuddly about him, voters liked him in the last election because he makes a good authority figure (a lot of people want a father figure in the white house), but I don't think he will have much to contribute in the next election.
