:-) Oh - did I forget to mention - must be operable by one person at a time. "At present there is no such beast". Yeah, that's my lament. I was soliciting opinions on the closest fit currently available.
My firmest requirements are the four doors/ sixfooters in the back bit. Good performance and good mileage are a plus, but not absolutes. I'd like to hang on to a manual tranny. >>disk brakes, no sunroof, four doors, good handling, high clearance...<< required. I brought that up because the pure sporters you favor will throw sparks on a taller speedbump, or drag an air dam on some of our aggressively countercrowned driveways. Sunroofs invariably have their rails right over the driver's seat centerline, chewing up valuable headroom there. I'm fed up with Lexus. While they list the sunroof as an option, they never allow you to opt against it. Try to find an LS400 without the "optional" sunroof. An otherwise nice car ruined by shoehorning the individual into a composite customer.
I guess what got me going was your wholesale dismissal of BMWs as a category. Maybe you can explain the stance to me. Find me a worthier stock four-door ( which I can afford, no AMGs) and I'm all ears.
Re Jackson Racing: after the mods, will local Honda wrenches have any issues with warranty, maintenance and repairs?
"VTEC engine from a GSR"
I found a website of someone who did this to a Civic hatchback. Some intake/exhaust shenanigans, and he had a high-twelves quarter miler. Cool, but waay specialized.
