John,

Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Unfortunately, as I am not a broker, I am unable to give you specific advice. However, if you have not already done so, you should go to your local public library and bone up on investment basics and mining terminology. From the following URLs, you will be able to access a wealth of invaluable information:

travel-net.com
goldinvest.com

techstocks.com
techstocks.com

Also look at the Business Section of the Globe and Mail daily, and the Northern Miner weekly.

The Canadian Shareowner (July/August 1997 issue Vol.10 No.6) has a nice article on page 14 entitled, SHOCK-PROOFING YOUR PORTFOLIO (Lessons investors can learn from the Bre-X fiasco).
In case you wish to subscribe, their address is;

Canadian Shareowner, 2 Carlton St., Suite 1317, Toronto, Ontario,M5B 1J3; Ph# 4165959600; Fax# 4169590400; published bimonthly, $54-$76/year.

Also keep bugging the Investor Relations of the Companies you are interested in for information, press releases, annual reports etc, surf the internet and SI. Always keep your head screwed on tight, and make your own decisions!!!

If you like, you might want to contact Shirley Owen at the Pacific Rim Mining thread (PFG on SI) for some more advice.

Best of Luck,

Richnorth
