I'm not terribly concerned myself. Almost everything (or perhaps everything) ends, and so will humanity- I'm not sure it matters that much when it ends.

That said, in terms of our national priorities - we could have a little sense of proportion when evaluating the various risks, and spend on them accordingly. The war on terror, imo, is overfunded- while the war for better health, and the war against disease, is underfunded- mostly because people are lemmings when it comes to risk (and actually that is an insult to lemmings- turns out their die offs are due to predator cycles, at least according to the new lemming research, but you know what I mean).
