Kerry was the only one who was 100% right about the Iraq War. Christ Matthews stated this when he had him on his show. That is, he voted to take out Saddam, but insisted as he did, upon GW keeping his promises to:

1) Go the full UN route
2) Build a large coalition
3) Make sure you plan for the peace first
4) Invade only as a last resort

All four of these points Kerry made strongly as he cast his vote, promising to hold GW's feet to the fire if he reneged. Bush broke his promises and rushed to war. That proved very costly. He also falsified evidence presented to the US, the Senate and the world. Meanwhile, DEan backed the Biden-Lugar bill which was similar, and otherwise had no answer for dealing with Saddam who was at the very least a credible threat somewhere down the road.
