Altera 4th qtr net profit, revenue rise

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Altera Corp. (NasdaqNM:ALTR - News), a maker of semiconductors that electronics makers can customize, said fourth-quarter net profit and revenue rose from a year earlier, citing an increase in new product sales.
Net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to $45.1 million, or 12 cents a share, from $27.1 million, or 7 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue was $217.4 million, up 20 percent from $180.6 million a year ago, said the San Jose, California-based company. |
