Christ was a big-time liberal when it came to riches versus poverty, and he also said to go ahead and pay Caesar his taxes. The only reason the right-wing Christians promote low taxes for the rich is that they made an unholy alliance with the big corporate polluters and fat cats in the GOP back in the 70's, and that tandem has gotten them ahead as a party. Actually christianity and big corporate interests have nothing else in common but front men like GW Bush and lobbyists like Ed Gillespie of Enron and the RNC. Because of their alliance the white Baptists actually support increased pollution, corporate welfare and sticking it to the middleclass. Ironically most white Baptists ARE middle class or lower.
