The RBC analysis apparently ignores the value of a company with virtually no long term debt and more than $7 per share cash. If these safety/quality considerations were taken into account, a higher PE, possibly near 40, would be justified. Of course, the other assumption that many of us make is that CDMA technology, particularly for high speed data communications, has the lowest operating costs. Those who assume that GSM based technology is as good because it does essentially the same thing and is more popular are not likely to put a premium on the QCOM PE.
