A federal judge Monday dismissed a lawsuit demanding reparations from companies accused of profiting from American slavery, suggesting the issue belongs in the U.S. Congress and not his courtroom.

A thought just struck me : If, I as a recently naturalized US citizen, start a company, and I hire African American staff, I open myself up to this idea of "slavery reparation". On the other hand, if I do not hire African American staff, I open myself up to "racial prejudice".

Either way, the lawsuits will make me bust, regardless of the way the business succeeds on an operational basis.

Maybe someone can help me understand the logic here.
