But the law of mass production is immutable. At present 64 bitness is not a volume concept. At least Intel has figured this out and done what they seem to refer to as market segmentation.

Have you considered the possibility that Intel has figured this out wrong?

Just when do you think AMD is going to start to show the cost of the German Plant on thier income statement?

Which one, Fab 30? Depreciation of that fab started in 2000, so it is well on its way of being fully depreciated, and no longer hitting the income statement with big numbers. Depreciation of Fab 36 will start when it is completed and when first production parts start to ship, which will most likely be in 2006.
