After you've read Classical Greek, the Gospels read like 'the salvation of the world in words of two syllables or less'. Very easy with a simplified use of grammar. I read some of the Gospels in Greek, and I remember thinking that this must be one of the few documents whose style improved in translation, at least, imo.
