I was appreciative of how well one needs to know a language before reading something in the original language has an advantage over reading a translation. Very good point. I felt at the time that my co-worker was doing it with the attitude that since this was the revealed word, the closer he got to the original writer the closer he was to God. The two most fervent Evangelicals I have known were "Science" types before they converted. This one was an "AE," the other an excellent GP who blew out his practice with his ranting.
