Infonet Receives License to Independently Provide Data Services in Turkey

License Allows Infonet to Provide Services Independent of Turkey's Incumbent Telecom Provider

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 27, 2004--Infonet Turkey, a subsidiary of Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, has received a license from the government of Turkey to independently provide Frame Relay and other types of data services throughout the country. With this Frame Relay license, named the "Data Communications License over Terrestrial Networks," and the license to provide IP services that Infonet already received from the Turkish government in April of 2002, Infonet is now among the first communications providers licensed to independently provide both IP and Frame Relay services to multinationals operating in Turkey.
Prior to receiving the new license, Infonet had been providing Frame Relay services in Turkey through Turk Telecom, Turkey's incumbent telecommunications provider. With the licenses, Infonet is now able to connect multinational clients with IP, Frame Relay, ATM and X.25 networks directly to Infonet's The World Network®, a move that will extend Infonet's ability to provide cost-effective communications solutions and exceptional local care to clients in the region.
