Delbert, there's nothing special about me. Hundreds of thousands of men saw real combat in Vietnam and many more saw real combat in other wars for this country. Unlike the chickenhawks, I suspect that most of us are very critical of the policies of "regime change," "preemptive war," and the definition of when war is necessary as a "last resort." Many people who have never been to war have the same understanding because they have empathy and a sense of reality.

It's those that have John Wayne notions of what war is, and George Bush notions of what it can accomplish, that bring us out of the woodwork to express our real-life experiences.
