CON-SPACE UK RECEIVES MAJOR ORDER
CCB-V
Con-Space Communications (U.K.) Ltd., a subsidiary of Con-Space Communications, is in receipt of orders from the U.K. Fire Inspectorate totalling 412,583 pounds sterling ($976,985).
"We have been working with the Fire Service for quite some time," said Andy Ibbetson, vice-president and general manager of Con-Space, "and are extremely pleased that our products have been selected as part of the U.K. Urban Search and Rescue Team's equipment cache. We will continue working hard to support them under the office of the deputy prime minister's New Dimension program for disaster response/terrorist threat. This program is of prime importance to the security of the United Kingdom and we are privileged to be part of it as one of their suppliers."
The Fire Inspectorate order contains victim locator kits that use the company's unique "rescue probe," which became popular after its involvement in the July, 2002, rescue of nine miners trapped underground in Que Creek, Pa. The order also includes specialized search cameras manufactured by Search Systems of the USA. All equipment is to be delivered by March 31, of this year.
The U.K. based facility, headed by Mr. Ibbetson, is the company's headquarters for all European operations. "It is our intention to raise the profile of Con-Space products within Europe," said Mr. Ibbetson, "and it is my goal is to establish the same high level of service and co-operative working relationships throughout the rescue community in Europe that we enjoy with rescuers in North America." |
