Thanks for the comments. GKX has modest earnings now, but the regular buyback and future potential swayed me. I've had EOP from the mid 20's and CEP from 1.27. I am still holding both. I actually went back through my notes to figure out why I hesitated on CEP. From what I can see in hindsight, I think it was mostly a lack of confidence that came from recent bad decisions. It's not that I bought bad stocks - I didn't. I just sold too early, either a loss or trivial gain.
No obvious buys are screaming at me now, but have dabbled in ITI, PF, FLO, SVI, SYY and WED. ITI somewhat speculative but still respectable. PF looks promising. FLO is getting close to a sell but I'll wait to see where momentum will take it. SVI... well, I don't know why I have SVI (PE of 14 is OK but isn't much armor in a dangerous market). SYY has the potential to be a blockbuster if its finances hold out. If not, it will still probably be bought out at a small premium. I bought back in to WED at 4.95 (more than twice the price I last sold it at - can you believe my timing? Sheesh!).
I also have some HELE Feb 25 calls that have done very well. PKZ continues to sputter upwards. I sold half my CET.UN for a double. I'm just a spectator on GLK, again because of my crippled trigger finger. That's about it. -g |
