I think by Feb 7 we would be in a position to know whether March primary would be a factor or not. Right now Kerry seems to be somewhat firmly set in the driver's seat. For Dean going from a 30 point lead just 3 weeks ago in NH to a 13 points behind is a free fall.

If we remember Sharpton's attack on Dean about his African American hiring record, it would be tough to get the African American vote. I would be interested in seeing if he would have his endorser Carol Mosely Baun by his side when he campaigns in the South. And then he has that favorite line of his about white males with Confederate flags in the South. If he fails to carry the South, then he will be asked about that statement and his failure to carry the South. So coming West with defeats in his backyard in the Northeast/Michigan and in the South is not a situation where he could claim "the Dean train is on a roll"

Again just my analysis. I may be wrong and it is always possible. Maybe he will win the South and roll into the West.
