I agree those are all valid concerns.

OTOH, if the government tries to go against the overwhelming will of the people, as they have done so over the Iraq war issue, it will be increasingly difficult to conceal that fact.

We will see at the next UK elections. Both the "new" labour party and the conservative party (largest parties in UK) are pro war.
