Carl just guessed but had no explanation at that time. At that time it was clear to me that saddam had wmds and now i, like david kay, have to figure out why they may not have. Are they in syria? Did scientists lie to saddam to save their ass? Was saddam embarrassed to admit to arab world that he succumbed to western pressure and destroyed them? Or was he/is he just plain crazy? If you take a look at how iraq was degraded during saddams rule you may come to the last conclusion. Mike
