I listened to the tape of that call on CSPAN's coverage of the 9/11 investigation yesterday. The woman on the ground end of the call was in tears listening to the tape, which she forwarded to the airline "emergency response team", who basically ignored it. The woman on the plane had reported several stabbings and that they were having trouble breathing (mace?). What seems to be the problem was that no one could imagine the hijackers using the planes for kamakazi attacks.
