We need JOBS - JOBS - JOBS

not more doublespeak from W.

Then we need more people buying American products. So, what kind of cars do we drive? Do we make sure we only buy clothes made in the US? Do we only buy electronics made in the US?

Back when I was growing up, we were proud to Buy American. We kept American factories humming, we kept Americans at work.

Next time you buy a car, will you be supporting American jobs, or foreign jobs?

Next time you buy a shirt, will you make sure it wasn't made in Taiwan, or the Phillipines, or China? If not, you're the one exporting jobs to those countries.

When we demand lower and lower prices without regard to the origin of our products, we are exporting jobs.

Every luxury society on earth has been based on cheap labor. For the ancients, it was slave labor. Early in our country's history, it was slave labor. In England, in the mills, it was women and children working at sub-human wages, it was servants working 16 hour days for nearly nothing. Today, it's the US exporting its labor to low wage countries so we can get cheaper goods rather than demanding that our stores carry only American made products, and being willing to pay for them. And Clinton, with his support of NAFTA, only exacerbated the problem. (Ross Perot was, I'm sorry to say, right.)

Next time any of us, me included, wants to know why the jobs are going away, just look in the mirror. And there's not a damn thing Bush can do about it.
