The war on terror has made it essential that we attempt to democratize the Middle East. The threatening nature of Saddam and the more secular nature of Iraqis made them a good prospect. This is why we did not invade Saudi Arabia. At this time, Saudi Arabia cannot be westernized and we are not going to kill millions of people for any purpose. Hopefully in time the seeds of democracy will take root.
