That's true, sands have been worked on far longer ... since the early eighties in Alberta ... starting out the costs were extreme, above usd30/bbl i think .... now well under usd10/bbl [although the fall in usd/cdn may have had an effect on that, don't know]

Climate has to be a factor, yes .... no doubt summer efficiency is far higher than winter, in Alberta ... it's about forty below there, yesterday ... on television last night there was a guy throwing a cupfull of hot water into the air, it just turned poof, into a cloud of snow
