That was different. That was caused by a volcano and disappeared after about 3-5 years. What WinSmith and I are talking about are more like El Ninos with much longer cycles (hundreds or thousands of years).

Your certainty of survival is a bit optimistic, but possibly true if you don't mind going back to population levels of a few million planet-wide. You sure you and your kin are going to be in the right place?
