The probe would identify the role played by European
scientists and nuclear managers associated with some top
companies in Europe in illegal transfer of nuclear
technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea, the source
said.

That would seem to underscore Europe's desire to oppose
removal of Saddam in the immoral & unethical manner they
went about it. No one wants to lose a valued customer &
face the real possibility the US would eliminate sales to
the likes of Iran, Libya and North Korea.

However, I have it on good authority that Europe's self
interests are more important than the underlying reasons
for those self interests.
