OK Victor what do you think changed with globalization between 1996 and now that would make it such a force when it wasn't before... not the internet btw.

The answer is CHINA.

When there was no china, globalization worked sortof. Now it doesn't unless the USA wants to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Asia Inc. What really bugs me about talking to you Bush supporters is that you won't even acknowledge there is a problem. This is also Bush's strategy and it will be his undoing.

BTW Durable goods numbers today sucked, because the market for durable goods is now offshore. No durable goods = no capex (no surprise to me) = no jobs.

And as you know, this is the first president since hoover to LOSE JOBS so any comparisons to other economic periods when I was supposedly hanging out at "cocktail parties" doesn't wash. Compared to you, I have a ton of empathy for the common man.
