Global warming is not a "media induced crisis", except in the eyes of random conservative propagandists. There is real science there, and real reasons to expect things to behave badly. If you want to learn some science beyond what's allowable on the WSJ editorial page, you might want to look at the data on historical atmospheric CO2 concentrations versus current levels, and how the historical levels correlate with other climate measures.
