The last Kennedy in the White House was perhaps our greatest ever president. Of course he was murdered by the right-wing so we didn't get to see all that he could do.
Greater than Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Trumann? No one with any historical knowledge believes that, even with the excuse that Kennedy did not have enough time to fulfill his promise. As for how he died, no one knows for certain. I have read adequate analysis of the facts to show that Oswald probably did it. Alternative theories involve the Mafia, because it had held helped him win the West Virginia primary, and was angry over the tough stand Bobby took on organized crime; Cuban exiles, angry over the Bay of Pigs; Communist conspirators with Oswald, in support of Castro; and vague allegations of a shadowy government conspiracy, with no evidence whatsoever. How you can positively state that the right- wing killed him beats me. One too many Oliver Stone movies, I guess........ |
