Jill, I appreciate your thoughtful post. Believe it or not, I agree with your observations and then some. I genuinely share your concerns!

Yes the Iraqi War was started by the current administration (and I have made numerous posts to the effect that I personally thought Bush was the lesser of two evils during the election). However, I believe that Clinton's thoughts regarding Iraq pretty much paralled Bush's.

IMO our intelligence gathering efforts have been poor boy'd for at least two decades, and we are seeing the real time results of that cost cutting exercise. They're not pretty.

I support the current administration now because we ARE in a war against terrorism and Iraq (rightly or not) seems to fit into that equation. People will use their personal opinions and beliefs to support their own POV about the the legitimacy of what we are doing in Iraq. Right now as far as the left is concerned, WMDs happen to be the cause du jour. That's fine with me. That's what our country is all about.

But. And this is a very big BUT. While most of us who post regularly here are right siders, those who CONTINUOUSLY bring their Bush bashing agenda should refrain from doing so. There are threads that serve that purpose elsewhere.

This isn't what the porch is about. JMHO, of course.
