I think we are seeing the systematic shake out of individuals in all the commodities, oil, natural gas, grains, and now today gold and silver.

We are seeing it at a time when the value of these commodities was never greater. Oil is becoming scarce, grain crops are producing less because of draught, and I cant think of a more prudent time to save in gold and silver given the debt overhanging the country.

It is painful to hold through these shakeouts but I personally I am ignoring the short term pain with the thought that the dollar is worthless anyway. So no matter how many dollars you have the sum is equal to zero and you might as well having something of value at the end of the day.

p.s. I get a sense that we may be getting closer to oil being sold in gold or gold backed currencies than we think. Its the only thing that can explain all the nonsense in energy and metals.
