Actually, you may want to find the time to review a few of those links. Quite revealing IMO. And Saddam's ties to terrorists was just one part of the problem.
RE: the book review, "defend things rigidly" & "Sometimes your posts bring this to my mind".....
Sorry, I don't defend things rigidly. One exception may be facts & reality. I'm real big on that. In fact, I've frequently stated on this thread that as facts & events unfold, I'm willing to change my opinions rather inflexibly stick to what may no longer be a valid POV. I never have & never will stubbornly pledge my allegiance to a politician or a political ideology. That's why I keep up to date on credible, verifiable info related to issues important to me.
I'm just a facts & credible evidence kind of guy. Always have been, always will be. My history on SI certainly supports this as accurate from my first post forward.
Searching for the truth often takes more time than most folks are willing to invest. Unfortunately most folks still boldly assert their version of reality without even knowing most of the intimate details. I've noticed that their assertions consistently were lock step with their political ideology.
Bottom line, I got so tired of folks right here on SI, journalists, major media outlets & politicians making all manner of bold assertions that frequently conflicted with each other & appeared to me to be at odds with the facts.
There had to be a way to sort the wheat from the chaff.
So I decided to research a number of major issues from their origins & track them as time & events unfold.
That's how I am able to keep my facts straight. It also allows me to provide folks with credible, verifiable info that may stand in stark contrast to their assertions & inflexible POV's.
If you think that is a bad thing, well you are entitled to your opinion. I happen to think that obtaining factual, reality based knowledge before you form your POV is a great thing. |
