I think there are some areas where it is considered acceptable to lie, and one of them is matters of personal vanity.

If you asked my saintly mother whether she colors her hair, she would vehemently deny it even though she is 76 years old and doesn't have a single strand of grey. I don't think that justifies calling her a liar.

In Kerry's case, I don't think you can expect him to say "yeah I had some botox done because those freakishly large furrows on my forehead were scaring young children."

If you hold a candidate to that standard, the whole thing turns into a game of "gotcha" (do you ever pick your nose? do you always wash your hands after using the restroom?).
