When asked about EDGE, VOD didnt state that they were a "CDMA company", they specifically mentioned W-CDMA. Later in the call they were asked about the comparative costs of upgrading 1xEV-DO for Verizon vs. the upgrade costs to W-CDMA....and they completely dismissed 1xEV-DO, since it is a "data-only standard".

I see the chances of VOD having widespread GSM 1x launches as just about zero.
