Morning Stan,
It seems to me that the Preterit's also recognize that there is a "parenthesis" in the 9th chapter of Daniel since there is approx 40 years difference between the crucifixion and the destruction of the temple. It's interesting to look at all that will be accomplished when Messiah (the Anointed)comes.

"Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city

to finish transgression,

to put an end to sin,

to atone for wickedness,

to bring in everlasting righteousness,

to seal up vision and prophecy and

to anoint the most holy.

It's hard to see how sin has ended and everlasting righteousness has been brought in, but then again if you spiritualize anything that does not fit your system, like the physical resurrection of Christ, then I suppose anything is possible. I see a great deal of similarities between Hyper-Preterism and ancient Gnosticism. In the case of Gnosticism, the denigration of the physical for the spiritual led to either asceticism or licentiousness. You have to wonder where Hyper-Preterist's are headed since history does tend to repeat itself.
