MSTR not as great as it looks, they did a 1:10 reverse split: although from 4.80 to 62 is very nice! from July '02: MicroStrategy's move to boost the value of its stock paid off more than the company may have expected, at least the first day of trading after its one-for-10 reverse stock split took effect. The move, prompted in part by MicroStrategy's need to protect its Nasdaq listing, meant the number of shares individual stockholders held was reduced while the face value of each share increased. Class A common stock outstanding went from 58.6 million to 5.86 million while the value of each share went from 48 cents to $4.80. The reverse split had a similar effect on its Class B common stock.
