<if I didn't know better I'd say you weren't left-wing at all>
Nadine I do have identity problems. I've been called a raving left wing loony and a rabid reactionary right wing madman. Yet I feel as though I'm still just me. I have travelled the traditional trip from left to right. I used to think along socialist lines, but after a decade or two of seeing, up close and personal, the effects of government running things, not just a fine theory, I had to abandon what I thought were good ideas.
Now it's tough finding the right label to wear.
But I'm UnAmerican, against military conscription, for the UN and NUN, want drugs decriminalized, against the royal family ruling, in favour of women being allowed to drive cars [reference Saudi Arabia], in favour of women being treated as human in general [how's that for liberal left wing], in favour of India, China and in general the lowest bidding person getting the work - not keeping jobs for the rich world], in favour of treating brown people as human too [now that IS liberal - no KKK for me], for the KKK having a fair trial and then a fair hanging, for the environment - plants need CO2 and lots of it and they like it warm, [incidentally, the Manukau Harbour in which I grew up, literally, for many hours anyway, and which was completely killed by pollution from sewage effluent, blood and muck from Westfield abattoir, Pike's Point tip, Pacific Steel, road runoff and other sources, is now coming back to life rapidly], for taxes from tariffs, against religions [and especially people like Jerry Falwell], for women deciding about abortions, for voluntary youthinasia, for scientific studies on human embryoes and foetal remnants [if the mother agrees], for deregulation of the medical cartel, for deregulation of the legal cabal, for deregulation of the real estate guild, for bicycle and pedestrian paths, against having to wear a crash helmet on my bicycle, in favour of wearing a crash helmet on my bicycle when I want to.
Act NZ is changing its name to Liberal. I'll officially be a Liberal party member.
