Bush in his State of the Union speech said he did not need a permission slip from the UN to protect the US. I would hope that he would at least need the permission of the American people to continue in the WH beyond Nov. 2004.

The issue is not fighting the terrorists. The issue is how do you fight the terrorists. Not the Bush way. He is realizing that to fight it his way is a mistake. Attacking Iraq the way he did (thumbing his nose at UN and the world) is a way which is dead wrong.

Get this one more time. He has failed miserably in his war on terrorism. He is step behind. He fought Saddam thinking he would be on a victory path in his "war on terrorism". He was daed wrong. Violence in Iraq has increased.

Now he is launching a search for Osama. But the war has spread and Osama is not a factor any more. You have world economy disrupted with the cancellation of several flights just today. They are not raising the alert level. So what. But the damage is done.
