Atrocities in Vietnam became common. Ex-Senator Bob Kerrey admitted he was involved in one. The way they happened was that the unit took casualties from a certain village. Since the soldiers could not tell friend from foe, in rage they would sweep in and kill everyone, or at least every man. But sometimes the Viet Cong used women and kids too. So sometimes you had to kiol women and children.

War is hell sometimes. Don't blame it on the soldiers. Blame it on the leaders who sent them in thre without a clear mission. If you fail to vote for a man because he served his country, you are not serving your country. I could understand your not voting for Bush because he went AWOL and refused to fight.
