Bald eagle,
Have you noticed tens of thousands IT jobs being outsourced to 3rd world? Same phenomenon is occurring in health care, legal profession & has already devastated manufacturing jobs. How can U.S. remain world's strongest consumer mkt if workers are either unemployed or must settle for far lower wages & disappearing benefits?

Have you noticed the huge trade imbalance or crippling national debt? Layoffs continue without job creation.
Stock mkt is not the only indicator of national economic health. The companies reporting better earnings have done so because of profits procured on backs of slave wage labor in 3rd world.

Watch Howard Dean on Tim Russert's Sun show. He'll explain how globalization has enabled American multi-national cos to exploit 3rd world poverty-stricken labor WITHOUT addressing as well world-wide workers' human rights. We've returned to 19thC when capitalists 1st started to use workers as pawns in a global chess game. Instead of 3rd world labor conditions improving, American workers quality of life is deteriorating as Bush Adm strives to increase already flooded labor pool in U.S. with more slave-wage immigrant workers. Pres Bush's campaign contributors are the employers who want to use those low-wage workers, which will continue to drag down salaries in entire country. Their excuse is that citizens will not take the jobs which is a lie, the truth is that greedy employers refuse to pay a living wage & the current Pres of U.S. suggests that's just fine with him.
