That is a true statement. Jimmy Carter was the last Dem to actually win a majority of the popular vote in 1976- -all of 50.08%.

LBJ got a 63% landslide in 1964. Much to the nation's later regret.

Then it's all the way back to 1940 for another Dem popular vote majority.

And these guys whine about GWB.
