"Conservation may be a sign of personal virtue, but it is not a sufficient basis - all by itself - for a sound comprehensive energy policy." And, "To speak exclusively of conservation is to duck the tough issues." Cheney

Bullshit! Conservation is the fastest, cheapest, and best way to energy independence for America. Just one plug, with 1/10th the passion Bush used in pleading for war with Iraq, for Americans to replace incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents, would make possible in a DECREASE in the number of power plants needed.

A recent court ruling to overturn the Bush administration's efforts to roll back efficiency standards for air conditioners has caused the power industry to cancel at least 100 power plants. The reason for the rollback? It was Clinton's idea, so it had to be bad.

You won't hear any talk of conservation from these Conservatives(?). Nor renewable energy. The words get caught in their throat. Too liberal sounding, you know.
