I am trying to open an Excel file that i produced on my girl friends' computer. We both have excel 97, her OS is win 98, mine is XP.
She copied the file onto a floppy, and when i try and open it, i get the message that excel cannot open the file, that it is read only or in a read only location. i have tried several tricks, but cannot access it yet. i attached the file on the floppy to an email and sent it to myself, but same result. It should have been a good copy to floppy in the first place, but we never tried to access it after it was copied, till now. any ideas?? tia. larry
edit - i am getting the message cannot read from the floppy, so am suspecting it is a bad floppy. However, i just copied an excel file from my computer onto the floppy and was able to open it from the floppy. hmmm |
