oh boy! Am Spirit, Oliver Stone himself admitted that "Platoon" was pure fiction. He claims a director has "creative license" to revise History. He's wrong. Facts are facts. There were atrocities committed in every war since beginning of time. That's exactly why we now have a volunteer army that tries to screen out those who cannot use self-control under severe stress. That's also the reason John Kerry was wrong to relate 2nd hand stories from other vets when he testified before congress. He should have stuck to his own experiences while giving that testimony. The fact that Jane Fonda supported Kerry's anti-war protesting group speaks volumes. She also sat astride an anti-aircraft gun in Hanoi while U.S. soldiers were dying in Vietnam to support her right to protest--the majority of Americans regard her activities in Hanoi as unacceptable & that's the reason Jane has never recovered any respect with American public. Protests of war were fine but Jane went a bridge too far & has forever earned the correct label--"radical traitor". Some of that negativity has to rub off on Kerry since she helped fund his protest group.
