Kerry receiving more support

(Farmington Hills, February 2, 2004, 10:55 a.m.) The largest coalition of labor unions in West Michigan and the Kent County Democratic Black Caucus are holding a press conference later today to announce their support for John Kerry for President.

Democratic front runner John Kerry got a big endorsement this weekend in his quest for his party's nomination. At a news conference Saturday, Governor Jennifer Granholm said she would put her support behind the Massachusetts Senator in next Saturday's Democratic caucus here in Michigan. Granholm says her decision was all about protecting jobs.

Kerry spent part of the weekend campaigning in Missouri. Polls show him holding a 33 point lead in that state. Missouri has 74 delegates at stake, the most of any state voting on Tuesday.

Kerry is considered the front runner in most of Tuesday's seven caucuses and polls show him leading in Michigan as well.

Might be down to a few after MI.
