I do not think dean matches bush military record.. dean got out of draft and went sking for months.. bush joined national air guard and qualified to fly jets. He missed meetings to help someone run for office.. and he made up the meetings. this was quite normal in the national guard from my experiences. many professionals in the national guard would miss meetings and make them up later.. some because of travel, some because of various project assignments or corporate training programs they were taking. the guard was a loose organization in the pre vietnam war and in the early stages of the war. I read Kerry got discharged four months early to go help out and run for political office. I do see not any difference. if bush's air wing was called up he would have been activated just like anyone else. I also read the plane his wing was using was replaced by a newer type airplane and he was not qualified on that type plane.. do not know if true or hear say.. but bush military record is nothing to be ashamed of. If the sen. who is working with kerry wants to call him awol like he did over the weekend he should produce the records. this is slander at its best. It is complete nonsense.
