My understanding is that Muslims do have different takes - Shi'a and Sunni will differ. We don't hear Shi'a views much. Saudi money dominates the Muslim outreach groups. But Islam is the only religion in which literalism is mainstream, and there is no real equivalent of Biblical scholarship.
