Just imagine raising taxes to cover the one-half trillion budget deficit for this year. At 285 million citizens the Federal budget deficit for this year is $1,754 per person or $7,018 for a family of four.

That's 16.5% of the median household income of $42,400. Just imagine Bush asking for an additional 16.5% income tax to cover the shortfall caused by all of his magic spending.
