"Do you categorically deny the reports that you have used Botox or other kind of cosmetic surgery or cosmetic enhancements to your appearance?" Kerry was asked on WRKO radio yesterday.

"Absolutely. I've never even heard of it," Kerry said. "I've never even heard of it."

Oh, please. Cherchez la femme:

Kerry's wife Teresa told Elle magazine last year that she gets regular Botox shots.

"In fact," she said, "I need another one. Soon."

Did Kerry Get Botoxed?

We don't care if he did, in fact, we think it would be a plus if he did--he'd look friendlier-- but you decide--Drudge has the pictures. Kerry denies it. But his wife has said in interviews she's a botox user.

We hope if Kerry is using it, he'll just say so. Getting caught in a lie is always worse--even if it's on such a trivial matter.

Maybe Kerry just had a facial and a peel. Maybe he just looks better when he's smiling. After all, before Iowa, he didn't have much to smile about.

New wrinkle

The New York Daily News chatted up a couple of plastic surgeons, who examined before-and-after pictures of 60-year-old John Kerry posted on the Drudge Report. They concluded Kerry's new smooth brow is due to Botox injections.

"Not only is it Botox, but it's classic bad Botox," New York plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Kane sniffed to the Daily News.

Kerry denied it Thursday, telling a Boston radio station he had "never even heard of it. Never heard of it."

Some skeptics wonder about what the definition of "it" is.

In a June 2003 profile in Elle magazine, the candidate's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, was lavish in her praise of Botox, telling the mag she used it regularly.
