As long as it is in China's and Japan's best interest to keep buying US treasuries, they will continue to do so.

This of course begs the question that Gross never bothers to ask.
When will that be?

Mish answer:
When China's economy is self sustaining and they no longer need US consumers to buy their goods. That might be 1 year from now, 3 years from now or 5 years from now. It will be on China's terms, not ours. In the meantime it is obvious what China is doing with US $. Buying oil, and copper, and soybeans and other stuff they want. Right now it is "win win". China is better off and the US charade keeps marching on.
Since Gross has not figured this out, he is no genius IMO.
