You didn't answer my question.

Our military is designed to fight two major wars at the same time so we don't have to fight any major war at all. That's the most sublime form of warfare, if you read Sun Tzu or Machiavelli. That doctrine has traditionally involved the European/Middle Eastern and Asian theaters, and has served us well since World War II, even cementing our position as the world's largest economy.

Recall that after World War I we gutted our military and consequently had to fight a much larger war in World War II because we had to launch crash programs upon crash programs to rebuild our military. You do understand that more than 60 million people died during World War II, do you? The debatable point is that fewer people would have died in World War II if the US had kept its strenght at the level necessary to modify European behavior.

US Military spending is a very unique form of government spending not only in the US but also around the world. Your simplistic point is that if we reduce that to zero then we will have nothing but surpluses and goodness, and live happily ever after. That's stupid and dangerous because you're not even aware of the profound interdependencies and settled expectations involved. For your sake, I hope you are not stupid and dangerous.
